The Light Only September Knows
There's a particular quality to September light — softer than August's, not yet the pale gold of October, but something entirely its own. It arrives slightly later, sits a little lower, and turns the ordinary parts of a morning into something worth noticing, if you let yourself notice it.
Most of us don't. Most of us wake up and reach for a phone before we've even opened our eyes all the way, and the morning is gone before it's really begun — filled instead with someone else's news, someone else's opinions, someone else's version of urgency.
This Sunday, we'd like to suggest something different. Leave the phone in another room. Make coffee slowly, the long way, and take it outside if you can. Sit with the September light for a few minutes before the day asks anything of you. No agenda beyond noticing that the season is quietly turning, and that you're allowed to notice it.
We'll be here when you're ready for the week. This morning is just for you.
